Why is it worth so much? Because Google is “cool”.  Seriously, what made Apple products so valuable a few years ago? They were cool.  Google is emerging as one of those rare brands whose worth is nearly impossible to calculate because they have the elusive coolness (googliness) factor on their side.

Applying Google Stock History to Today

Judging by Google Stock History, you are probably wondering whether or not it is too late to jump in and buy shares of Google, especially considering how hot they are right now.  Fear not my dear friend, it is never too late to invest in Google.  People often express concern that Google is getting too pricey for its own good and that, like Apple or Microsoft they have plateaued.

  • Consider this: Unless Tim Cook is preparing to unveil a new disruptive technology (like Jobs did over and over again) Apple will continue to lose ground.  The hardware front is a battle Apple no longer dominates thanks in large part to Android (Google) in the mobile sector, and an increasingly level playing field in the computer/laptop sector.
  • Now This: Googles line of products(tablets, phones) could completely flop and stock prices would hardly miss a beat.  Why? because Google completely dominates the search engine sector.  If Microsoft or Apples products fail what do they have to fall back on? Bing and Itunes?  No thank you.
  • And Finally This: Sergey Brinn, co-founder of Google, is not the CEO,CFO, or any of that nonsense.  He is the Director of Special Projects. Because Google is so profitable and run so smoothly Sergey and his future specialist pal Ray Kurzweil are busy cooking up the next big thing while Tim Cook is busy apologizing for the apple maps debacle.

Applying Google Stock History to the Future

Google is not going anywhere and their stock is still an excellent buy, here are three reasons why

I believe Glass is the next “big thing”.  It has the potential to disrupt our everyday lives much like the Iphone did in 2007.

Will Glass Forever Change Google Stock History

  • Internet

The explosion of the internet has led us into a revolution equivalent in impact to the industrial revolution.  This “digital revolution” has created a “digital divide”.  About sixty one percent of the worlds population still does not have access to the internet.  Google is changing that by pushing infrastructure into emerging markets (Africa).  More people on the internet, means more people using Google, which bodes well for Google shareholders.

  • Chromebooks

Just another budget laptop on the market right? Wrong.  Chromebooks run on the same hardware that power tablets and phones.  They are not bogged down by clunky operating systems (looking at you Windows) They simply run Chrome OS which is much simpler.  This simplicity is peaking the interests of educators everywhere; soon Google chromebooks may be a staple of any classroom.

Conclusion

My colleague at WebMechanix predicted back in 2009 that Google stock price could hit 1,000$.  Although I am a bit later to the party with my prediction, I think its a safe bet that within the next year Google stock history will be made once again as shares are priced at over 1,000$

Now that you know all about Google stock history and the outlook of companies future, go buy Google stock.
